I don’t know if ya’ll remember my very first video that was entitled “Pitching my ideas for my Digital Artefact”, well this is the second edition of that, and it’s called a Beta. Basically, I’ll talk about what ideas I pitched, what prototypes I put in place and what processes I used and what were my results. First of all, here is the video version of this…
In my first video, I talked about how I wanted Poppy + Willow to be a safe haven for all those who needed a refuge; a place to inspire and grow in our Mental Health journeys, and to know that we are not alone in our pain. I talked of how I wanted to aim to have Poppy + Willow on several different platforms; Youtube, Website and Instagram.
I started off creating Poppy + Willow on each of these platforms and really only decided to pursue two; Youtube and the website. From both I got amazing feedback and support.
I would post weekly posts on both the P + W website and youtube channel, and was gaining a small viewing of 80 views and 5 comments. However, I decided to change the name of the Youtube channel from Poppy and Willow, to Lilli Hessenberger. I found that people were connecting with me on the channel rather than the “brand” of Poppy + Willow.
Once I did this, the Youtube channel took off! I gain 1K views and almost 30 comments! My viewing time went through the roof. I discovered that it was because I had figured out the Youtube algorithm — more than 10 minutes and vlogging is ideal. From this my Instagram almost doubled its following.

My plan from here, is the keep the vlogs going. However, not basing my channel off this. My main platforms will be Youtube. Though I will use my personal instagram to “brand” the channel, and have the website remaining as a safe haven.
Overall, personally speaking, I think that my Digital Artefact is doing excellently. It means more to me than just a student project, and I can see myself continuing it past the project itself.
Until next time,
Lil x
